2010 Louisiana Role Model
Services to Youth Facet
Mrs. Pat McCallister-LeDuff is the co-founder and current president of the Banks Community Neighborhood Civic Association, and the Community Against Drugs and Violence, Inc. (CADAV). Her dedication to the community has led Mrs. LeDuff to host weekly community planning meetings for many years in her home. Mrs. LeDuff’s community planning meetings have helped to create a safer and cleaner place for children to grow and prosper into self-sufficient citizens. She has not only contributed to the safety of youth, but has also played a dynamic role in the diversification of the Scotlandville community. Mrs. LeDuff helped organize town meetings sponsored by the Greater Baton Rouge Federation of Churches and Synagogues for the What Color is Your Community program, the YWCA Racial Justice for Dialogue on Race program, the East Baton Rouge Parish School Improvement Team, and the Mayor’s City-Wide Task Force. Through these efforts she has engaged members of the community to tear down the walls of division within Scotlandville and support the One Baton Rouge initiative. Her mission toward a unified community continues to move forward as she collaborates with World Changers and Promise Keepers to engage the community in city-wide clean-up efforts. Mrs. LeDuff remains active in the community and is founding member and current President of the Scotlandville Community Development Corporation. She is also an active member of Progressive Baptist Church where she serves as Youth Advisor for the Circle of the Chosen.
Mrs. LeDuff is an outstanding citizen who has demonstrated true leadership and commitment for which our community is extremely grateful.
